Lawyer Commercial

Serious Mock Lawyer Commercial

Joke Lawyer Commercial

I shot these commercials as a test to my portable green screen lighting setup as well as to demonstrate a mock lawyer commercial for future clients. I had a lot of fun filming this with my bud Nicky P, who as you can see in the blooper real, is not professionally trained in the acting arts. Meaning with the right amount of time and editing, almost anyone can say their lines.

Large Format Cameras

I've been doing a lot of research on DSLRs the past year, and I thought I'd compile some links in this post that talk about some of the cameras currently on the market.

First up is the Sony Alpha A55

This camera is a hybrid SLT camera that features a translusent mirror so that the LCD information can be displayed inside the camera's viewfinder. This camera also features a live auto focus, that the Canon Cameras lack.

Next is the Sony FS100

Sony Professional - NEX FS100E: Affordable Super 35mm from Sony Professional on Vimeo.

This is a professional camcorder with a large sensor format similar to a DSLR. With this camera you get key features of pro video cameras such as XLR inputs and audio monitoring, but you still get that cinematic look of a film camera that the DSLRs have been able to capture.

Last is a video comparing the Canon 60D(my current camera) to the Panasonic GH2

The GH2 also features a live auto focus mode that again my camera envies! This camera also can use the micro 4/3rds mount and Panasonic's new Pancake prime lenses.

Epic Time Lapse Test

Here is a video of my first attempt at time lapse photography.

I've learned a lot about sun rises and time lapse shooting this video. Since I awakened myself at 6:30am to get ready to capture the sun rising, I was not fully awake and so I had my shutter speed very low and my white balance on fluorescent. These mistakes give it a feel of the moon rising rather than the sun and have caused the sun to change in size and for the images to get darker as I increased the shutter.

It's much more difficult to film the sun rising rather than setting because you have to predict where the sun will pop up from the horizon, where as with a sun set, the sun is already in the frame making it easier to adjust the camera's settings accordingly.
